| Recently appointed as BWF's Festival Director, Kate was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Writers Centre for over six years, supporting authors to have sustainable careers. Kate is the founder of if:book Australia, a national think-and-do tank exploring digital futures for writers and readers. Kate has been a regular contributor to ABC Radio and The Courier Mail and has published numerous short stories in anthologies and magazines. Kate is a member of the Copyright Expert Reference Group of the Book Industry Collaborative Council, advocating for the needs of readers. She has been a guest speaker at O'Reilly Tools of Change for Publishing in New York, the PajuBookcity Forum in South Korea and numerous Australian writers festivals. |
General Manager Robyn Cornford |
| Robyn comes to BWF with much experience in accounting, finance and organisational management and a very diverse work history. She is a chartered accountant and has an MBA; both of which she has put to good use for businesses, non-profit organisations and NGOs in Australia and internationally. Most recently, she worked as a consultant with international aid organisations and projects engaged in providing microfinance services in developing countries. She has travelled widely both for work and for fun and has always loved the challenge of finding the best local bookshops to browse. No-one who knows her well is at all surprised to find her at BWF. |
Program Manager Julie Beveridge |

Julie Beveridge is a Brisbane based poet and cultural producer. From 2006-2013 Julie has lead the Program, Services and Marketing team at Queensland Writers Centre . She has a long standing commitment to Queensland Poetry community and has been both Production Manager (2005-2007) and Director (2008-2010) of Queensland Poetry Festival. An emerging poet, Julie has two collections of poetry Home Is Where The Heartache Is (Small Change Press) and home{sic} (Another Lost Shark Publications). Jules is very slowly making her way through a Masters in Arts and Entertainment Management at Deakin University, working on a new collection of poems centered around the women behind history's most horrific men, teaching herself how make short crust pastry and is very much excited to be a part of the BWF team. |
Associate Producer David Burton |
| David Burton is a Queensland writer, producer, and podcaster. David's best known for his award-winning theatre work, including April's Fool (published by Playlab Press and produced by the Empire Theatre), which he wrote in 2010. David is the in-house writer for Grin and Tonic Theatre Troupe, an associate artist of the Queensland Theatre Company and previously lectured in Creative Writing at the University of Southern Queensland. David brings years of production experience to Brisbane Writer's Festival and a greedy appetite for writers. |

Bernd joined the BWF team in 2008, with much experience and knowledge to make the Festival a disaster-free zone. Bernd keeps the Festival office entertained with his dry sense of humour and demands for coffee! |
Publicity Manager Cinnamon Watson |
| Cinnamon has worked in the field of Marketing and Publicity for the past 18 years, in both commercial and not-for-profit environments, including a 5 year stint as QPAC's Publicity Manager. Since leaving QPAC in 2006 she has started her own business and relishes the work/life balance she has been lucky enough to find. With the support of her husband and three gorgeous girls she is passionate about making the most of every opportunity and is thrilled to join the Festival team for a third year in 2012! |
